AI Assistant

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Copilot in Excel is the AI assistant built into Microsoft Excel, part of Microsoft 365. It lets you describe what you want in plain language and then helps edit formulas, tables, and formatting, with changes you can review before applying. It can suggest the right formula for your data, add columns or highlight key information, and move from a simple prompt to deeper insights directly in the spreadsheet, without advanced Excel skills. Copilot in Excel requires AutoSave to be enabled, so the file must be saved to OneDrive; it does not work with unsaved files. Access is available through Microsoft 365 subscriptions that include Copilot, and a free Microsoft Excel plan offers web-based spreadsheets with sharing and collaboration.
Open your workbook in Microsoft Excel and make sure AutoSave is on so the file is saved to OneDrive; Copilot in Excel does not function with unsaved files.
Tell Copilot what to change and it can help edit formulas, tables, and formatting; review the suggested changes and stay in control.
