It combines a visual builder with code steps, 500+ native integrations, any API via HTTP, and MCP connections to agents or coding assistants. Users can watch agents work live, inspect past runs, add human-in-the-loop approvals, and apply rule-based automation. Workflows include built-in documentation, version history, and step-level re-runs. n8n is available as a hosted cloud service or self-hosted via Docker or on-prem, with a free Community Edition on GitHub. Paid plans scale by monthly workflow executions and add collaboration, insights, SSO, and enterprise governance features.

An execution is a single run of your entire workflow, regardless of how many steps it contains or how much data it processes. This makes usage more predictable than tools that bill per step or task.
Yes. The n8n Cloud free trial includes Pro-level features with limits of 1,000 executions, 5 concurrent executions, a 180-second execution timeout, and 1 team project. No credit card is required for the n8n Cloud trial.
Yes. A standard self-hosted Community Edition is available on GitHub, and you can deploy on-prem or with Docker to keep data in your own environment.
Not yet. The Business plan is currently only available for self-hosted n8n, and a waitlist exists for hosted Business plan access.
Assistant is included in n8n Cloud plans except Enterprise, with monthly allowances such as 1,600 credits on Starter and up to 9,600 on Pro. Unused credits do not roll over, and extra credits can be purchased.
For hosted plans, data is stored within the EU on servers located in Frankfurt, Germany. For self-hosted plans, data resides wherever you choose to host n8n.
Yes. Companies under 20 employees can check eligibility for the Start-up Plan, which offers 50% off Business.
Monthly commitments can be cancelled at any time, with the subscription ending at the close of the current billing cycle. Annual commitments end at the close of the annual term, and n8n does not offer pro-rata refunds.
Prices shown are billed annually. Monthly billing is also available; annual billing saves 17%. All plans include unlimited users, unlimited workflows, and every integration. Pricing is based on monthly workflow executions regardless of complexity.
